There are different factors that bring about holiday anxiety. Your pocket may get drained with all the presents, dinners, and traveling just so you could visit your friends and family members. Some people might dread being with people they don’t really like, as well as doing things they’re not exactly thrilled about. All of these could put physical stress on the body. This is because your anxiety makes you argumentative and irritable. You might forget certain things as you go shopping since your focus gets messed up. Anxiety prevents you from having quality sleep, and this may cause you to experience fatigue during the day. All of this pressure could negatively affect your immune system, thus making you more likely to catch colds and other illnesses.

Avoid holiday anxiety through setting some limitations. Take responsibility for only those things that you could handle. Seek help form other people, and draw some boundaries on the things you’ll do. Have a budget from the start of the season, and spend within that budget. Always spare some time to rest and sleep. Have some time to clear your mind and calm yourself down when things get out of hand. Christmas is supposed to be fun, don’t let you anxiety rob you of all the happiness and enjoyment.
